Fashion and Jewellery design is a dynamic, rapidly expanding industry providing individuals around the world with an opportunity to earn income and build a business of their own. It has yet to reach its full potential in South Africa, and one of the ways to achieve this growth is through the continuous development of skills. The University of Johannesburg (UJ), however, imparts the skills required for students to market themselves successfully.
Tourism Management students enrolled for the Module in Events Management, returned to centre stage with the Around the World Fashion Show at the University's School of Tourism and Hospitality (STH), Auckland Park Bunting Road Campus in October 2008. Mrs Sizeka Rensburg, wife of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof Ihron Rensburg, was the patron for this event.
